Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) Systems Engineer in support of the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure. What You’ll Get To Do
The Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) engineer is an essential part of the Design Integrated Product Team and provides technical RAM assessments and evaluations of equipment as part of the design development process. Achieving required levels of product RAM is critical in the equation to obtain product quality and customer satisfaction.
Roles and responsibilities:
Implements, supports, and maintains a Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) closed loop data reporting system.
Tracks all failures of functional equipment parts from date of failure to date of closure in compliance with Customer’s closed loop FRACAS requirements.
Collects diagnostic data and maintenance repair data on repair/fix actions to improve RAM performance.
Analyzes equipment designs and provides Baseline Comparative Systems (BCS) assessments, MIL-HDBK-217, Electronic Predicted Reliability Data (EPRD) and Non-Electronic Predicted Reliability Data (NPRD) Predictions.
Develops Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD) to assess Logistic and Mission Reliability requirements.
Develops Maintenance Task Analyses (MTAs) to determine component repair times, crew size, support equipment, skill levels and maintenance tasks required to restore a component to an operational condition.
Develops Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) to identity single point failures, safety critical failure modes, fault isolation and detection percentages and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) scheduled maintenance assessments.
Identifies Reliability Critical Items (RCIs).
Ensures a failure reporting information system through which an historical trend database can be managed.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of failure reporting data, the analysis and the root cause corrective action implemented.
Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes.
Ensures that failure mode root cause and corrective action (RCCA) measures meet acceptable R&M standards.
As necessary, proposes changes in design, to improve system and ensure corrective action effectiveness.
Develops and presents RAM assessments and lessons learned to the Integrated Product Teams (IPT).
Collaborates with the Supplier Management Team (SMT) and suppliers on ensuring all RAM Supplier Data Requirements Lists (SDRL) are comprehensive and align with all technical requirement in their respective Data Item Descriptions (DID).
Maintains RAM tasking updates on the RAM Agile Jira Board for each Sprint of the Program Increments (PI).

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
This position may include a competitive relocation package.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.
Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience with Bachelors; 6 years with a Masters; or 4 years with a PhD.
U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance awarded/renewed within the last 6 years ( with ability to obtain Special Program Access).
Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Business or STEM related discipline.
Experience in developing FMECAs, Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs) and reliability predictions.
Experience in developing mission reliability models for subsystems or assemblies.
Experience with Teamcenter.
Proficient with Reliasoft.
Prior experience developing software reliability models.
Experience with supplier management.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Salary Range:
$114,900 - $172,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
