Based in Midwest Vision Partners' Chicago headquarters, the Staff Accountant is responsible for providing support to the financial operations of the Company by performing accounting functions related to preparing and reviewing various financial transactions, general ledger balances, financial records and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The role will report directly to the Accounting Manager but partner across MVP. The individual will also have consistent exposure to both MVP's Controller and CFO.

Monday-Wednesday will report to Chicago office
Thursday-Friday- WFH
8:00am-5:00pm
WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON:
Participate in the monthly close process of Company. This will entail performing assigned accounting functions prior to due dates, analyzing assigned accounts, and posting journal entries during the close process.
Reconcile assigned accounts by the due date specified in the reconciliation schedule.
Support accounting department with the invoicing, cash application, and accounts receivable reporting.
Perform other accounting-related duties, including financial statement preparation.
Participate in the annual audit process, including providing auditors with assigned account reconciliations and PBC items.
Create detailed processes and procedures around financial processes and internal controls to assure security, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting.
Perform ad hoc analyses as required.
Assigned areas and duties may change over time for cross training.
Additional duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree (required) in Accounting (preferred).
Minimum 3 years of staff accountant or comparable experience required.
Knowledge and direct experience with ERP systems (e.g. MS Dynamics) and other financial tools (Workday Adaptive Insights, etc.) preferred.
Expertise in accounting terminology and procedures, knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
Ability to explain and interpret accounting and financial information.
Possess an understanding of financial processes, such as financial close, consolidations, planning, forecasting, and reporting.
