JOB SUMMARYWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist II to join the GPCR Biology group and advance our core mission of accelerating small molecule drug discovery programs at Iambic Therapeutics. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of supporting in vitro cell-based assays to advance pre-clinical projects. The candidate will work closely with a cross-functional team that integrates machine learning, medicinal chemistry, analytical technology and biology to revolutionize small-molecule therapeutics design and discovery. This role is based at our San Diego headquarters.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESWork closely with the Biology group to independently conceptualize, design and conduct in vitro studies aimed at supporting hit to lead medicinal chemistry efforts targeting GPCRs.Independently manage CRO scientists in the design, development, and implementation of in vitro assays for the advancement of GPCR projects.Execute weekly cell-based assays to screen/evaluate small molecule compounds in coordination with Biology, Chemistry, and Compound Management groups.Interpret and analyze scientific data and work with cross functional teams to QC/communicate data in a timely manner.Present experimental results/updates at team meetings.Contribute to the management of the biology laboratory.REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s or master’s degree in biochemistry, pharmacology, cell biology, or other related scientific areas.A minimum of 5-8 years of industry experience.Extensive expertise in GPCR drug discovery, with hands-on experience in both traditional and innovative screening methodologies, as well as concepts related to GPCR signaling and trafficking.Demonstrated scientific rigor with proven ability to critically evaluate data, and think independently and creatively in developing and testing new scientific hypotheses.Hands-on experience in cell biology and routine biological assays, including cell culture, HTRF and reporter gene cell-signaling assays, and imaging assays.Familiarity with HTS screening methodology is highly desirable.Experience with design and implementation of in vivo models in coordination with CROs is highly desirable.Excellent oral and written communication skills is required.Highly motivated to work in a cross-functional team setting.Flexibility and ability to quickly learn new skills and knowledge on the job.ABOUT IAMBIC THERAPEUTICSIambic Therapeutics is disrupting the therapeutics landscape with its cutting-edge generative AI drug discovery platform.
