The Process Safety Management Director will be responsible for guaranteeing safety for people utilizing various equipment, higher yields, and higher attainment in the organization.Dimensions2 Direct reports - Process Safety ManagersSupporting all pellet operations across North America70% Travel throughout North AmericaResponsibilitiesDevelop and Implement PSM Programs:

Lead the development, implementation, and management of PSM programs.Process Hazard Analysis (PHA):

Oversee the completion of PHAs, facilitate hazard identification and risk analysis sessions, and ensure timely follow-up on recommended actions.Management of Change (MOC):

Establish and maintain a robust MOC process to manage operational, equipment, or procedural changes that impact process safety.Incident Investigation:

Lead or support investigations of process safety-related incidents, near misses, and deviations; ensure root causes are identified, corrective actions are implemented, and lessons learned are communicated.Mechanical Integrity:

Ensure the development and implementation of mechanical integrity programs to maintain the safe operation of critical equipment, including pressure vessels, piping systems, and safety-critical devices.Compliance Audits:

Lead and coordinate internal and external PSM compliance audits and reviews. Develop corrective action plans based on audit findings and ensure timely resolution of identified issues.Training and Development:

Develop and deliver PSM-related training programs for employees, contractors, and management to enhance safety awareness and competency.Emergency Planning and Response:

Collaborate with site leadership to develop and implement emergency preparedness and response plans in line with regulatory and best-practice standards.Safety Culture Leadership:

Promote and lead process safety initiatives that align with the organization's overall safety culture goals.Collaboration:

Work closely with other EHS and Operations teams to integrate process safety principles into operational decision-making processes.Regulatory Interface:

Act as the primary interface with regulatory bodies regarding PSM compliance and reportable incidents. Represent the company during safety inspections, audits, and incident reviews.Continuous Improvement:

Evaluate and improve existing process safety programs, identifying opportunities for risk reduction and operational efficiency.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field5-10 years of experience in process safety management or related experience supporting operations/projectsExperience with mechanical integrity programs, root cause analysis, and incident investigation.Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence safety culture, and drive continuous improvement.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex safety concepts to all levels of the organization.Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
