Position : Development DirectorFull-Time PositionSalary and benefits are commensurate with education and experienceOrganization : Foundation for Springfield Public Schools, Springfield, MOThe Foundation for Springfield Public Schools raises, manages and distributes funds to benefit the students of Springfield Public Schools. Serving over 24,000 students, the Foundation’s goal is to promote educational excellence for every child by working with the community and the public school system. The Foundation manages over $8 million and more than 150 funds and scholarships.Primary Responsibilities:The Development Director reports to the Executive Director. This position is responsible for overseeing the development and marketing plan including fundraising campaigns, fundraising events, marketing, and awareness.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Coordinates and executes the following fundraising campaigns:Back to School Campaign, responsible for securing sponsorships and donor gifts each year.Fueling the Future, Rapid Roberts.Love SPS Campaign (New Campaign), responsible for securing sponsorships, donor gifts, and promoting campaign in the community.General Fundraising Campaigns, responsible for securing sponsorships and donor gifts each year.Annual direct mail, annual banquet, employee campaign, event and program sponsorships.Alumni Donor Campaign, responsible for working with the program director to develop events and activities to secure donor gifts from SPS alumni.Coordinates the following special events:Celebrate SPS Banquet, responsible for event planning, sponsorships solicitation, silent auction, and execution of event working with the Celebrate SPS Committee.Other Fundraising Events and Activities.Board Member Socials.Donor Socials.Expands donor base by developing relationships, exploring new opportunities, applying for grants, and working with the growth and giving committee.Works with administrative coordinator to maintain donor database.Oversees and executes marketing plan including:Creation and execution of Annual Report.Developing and maintaining media contacts.Press releases.Regular updates to the FSPS website and social media accounts.Monthly constituent newsletter.Represents the Foundation in the community, and works with Foundation staff, SPS staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors to achieve goals.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in a related field strongly preferred or significant experience, certification, and/or training in the non-profit field required.5-plus years of experience in the non-profit development field preferred.Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.Knowledge of Bloomerang donor software is a plus.Knowledge of Canva is a plus.Individual should be highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with a preference for working with people.Occasionally required to lift and carry boxes of materials and equipment weighing 25-50 pounds.Requires some evening and weekends.Must pass a criminal background check.Qualified applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and three professional references by 5pm Friday, December 16, 2024.Benefits:Paid health insurance (CoxHealth Plans).Simple IRA match (up to 3%, Edward Jones).PTO.Paid Holidays (8).Foundation for Springfield Public Schools.
