The Office assists with setting and meeting enrollment goals by reviewing trends, needs, and capacity issues; planning with Deans and senior management; and developing relationships with campus and external communities.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Admissions and CounselingInforms and advises all prospective students and their families on CSU admissions eligibility, career and major choices.Responsible for emails to students and performs communication audits.Works with prospective students and counselors in the navigation of ASSIST and TES.Provides accurate information about student transfer, CalStateApply, and online resources.Ensures student assistants are up-to-date on admissions policies.Evaluates transcripts for admissibility and tracks records in PeopleSoft.Guides prospective students on admissions requirements and services.Refers prospective students to appropriate offices when necessary.Maintains knowledge of student services practices and admissions policies.Responsible for departmental email inboxes and support phone lines.Provides advisement on admissions procedures, financial assistance, and student life.Triages and solves student application issues.Interacts effectively with applicants, students, faculty, and staff.Conducts admission workshops for admitted students.Re-Admission Counseling and ServiceAssists with the returning student life cycle.Maintains inquiry database and ensures accurate data coding.Collaborates with related departments for timely responses to prospects.Develops communication for prospective returning students.Serves on the campus Returning Student Workgroup.Maintains knowledge of academic standing and admission practices.Evaluates transcripts for returning transfer eligibility.Re-Admission EvaluationResponsible for admission evaluation and processing of returning students.Collaborates with Bronco Advising Center regarding applicants.Refers files to academic departments when necessary.Office of Admissions Administration SupportParticipates in staff development and meetings.Conducts testing of admission systems.Adheres to laws and policies regarding data and records.Prepares enrollment reports to determine yield strategies.Performs administrative duties as assigned.Provides customer service at the department service desk.Works extended hours as needed.QUALIFICATIONS:Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field.Two years of professional experience in student services or a related field.Working knowledge of program practices and procedures.Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations.Ability to advise students on admissions matters.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of Office of Admissions functions.Ability to communicate complex requirements effectively.Knowledge of counseling techniques and theories.Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.Equity, Diversity, and InclusionAt Cal Poly Pomona, we are committed to creating an inclusive campus where all students, faculty, and staff are respected.Background CheckCal Poly Pomona will make a conditional offer of employment pending a satisfactory background check.Advertised:
