We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Vice President of People and Culture to lead our Human Resources function. The role is focused on long term strategy and daily operational excellence.
Job Purpose:Responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources function and Human Resources team development. Responsible for overseeing employee relations, organizational development, compliance, recruitment, retention, benefits, worker’s compensation, seasonal game day staffing, and internship programs. This role leads the Reds Diversity, Equity & Inclusion platform.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Detailed knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations regarding employees and unions.Strategic advisor to senior executives.Risk management – Proactively manage all human capital related risks to the Reds business enterprise.Review and make recommendations for the improvement of company policies, procedures, and practices.Develop and execute organizational development strategies complete with professional development and training required by federal/state laws and Major League Baseball (MLB).Manage and lead company retention efforts including morale and employee recognition.Advise employee and management personnel on the interpretation of personnel policies, programs, and procedures.Coach and advise management and senior leadership from the perspective of the impact on people and the organization and make recommendations that focus on continuous improvement and compliance.Lead a team of HR professionals, strategize, plan, and direct the activities of the HR department.Lead negotiations with non-player unions.
Experience, Education and Licensure:
Bachelor's Degree with at least seven years related experience in Human Resources leadership roles required.Master’s degree and/or professional certification preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Understanding of federal, state, and local employment related laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO and FLSA).Understanding of, and experience with, most or all the core aspects of Human Resource Management including recruiting/staffing, employee relations, performance management, leadership development/training, and worker’s compensation.Strategic and critical thinking focused on business solutions.Courage to make tough decisions and deliver difficult messages with professionalism and poise.Ability to work without supervision and make appropriate decisions, perform multiple tasks simultaneously and process work with accuracy.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Must be capable of mastering Paycor HR Perform software and reports.Have a high level of interpersonal skill and ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations.Strong attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, data entry, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management staff and employees.The position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.Adhere to Cincinnati Reds Organization Policies and Procedures.Act as a role model within and outside the Cincinnati Reds Organization.Demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.Meet Department productivity standards.
