client near Santa Monica, seeks a Senior Accountant (Inventory) to join their team.

Job

– The hired Senior Accountant (Inventory) will perform daily and monthly accounting tasks by supporting the monthly closing process, reconciling accounts, and inputting journal entries. The hired accountant will also perform inventory accounting tasks to ensure accurate inventory counts.

Job Site Status (onsite/hybrid/remote)

- This role will require the hired Senior Accountant (Inventory) to commute to the office three days/week.

Compensation/Benefits

– Salary range is $100,000-$120,000/year. Our client supplements base compensation with health insurance and a discretionary bonus.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (INVENTORY) DUTIES

General Ledger (G/L) Accounting

Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, including consolidated financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and lender compliance.

Prepare balance sheet and P&L account analysis & monthly reconciliations.

Manage the monthly closing process.

Input journal entries.

Perform month-end and quarter-end closes.

Deal with account, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Aid in reconciliations of all intercompany transactions.

Inventory Accounting

Track and manage the company’s inventory by maintaining inventory records, conducting physical inventory counts, and reconciling inventory records to physical counts.

Properly account for inventory. This includes ensuring that inventory is properly classified and valued, and that inventory transactions are recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Minimize inventory costs by identifying and implementing cost-saving measures: vendor consolidation and inventory optimization.

Other Tasks

Assist with process improvements.

Review and recommend credit terms for new customers.

Participate in year-end audits, including preparing audit schedules.

Accept any other necessary tasks.

CORPORATE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (INVENTORY) QUALIFICATIONS

Required

At least three (3) years of accounting experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent major

Current or prior work at a defense contractor/subcontractor/manufacturing company, whether it be employment at one or as a client

Inventory accounting experience

Preferred

Prior employment at a Big 4 Accounting Firm/Tier 2 Accounting firm

CPA

Expert-Level experience with an ERP program

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, IF Formulas)
