www.ucihealth.org.Your Role on the TeamPosition Summary:Incumbent is a key leader, overseeing the financial operations of the faculty practice medical group and community physician network, ensuring strategic financial management and support for the clinical operations team. Develops and executes financial strategies to support the clinical operations of the medical group and community physician network. Oversees school of medicine clinical department budgeting processes, working closely with department heads and operational leaders to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational goals. Monitors financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as needed. Manages funds flow between UCI Health and the School of Medicine, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and financial best practices. Provides financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making by senior leadership and operational teams. Collaborates with other finance and accounting teams to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency. Prepares and presents financial reports and updates to executive management and stakeholders.What It Takes to be SuccessfulRequired Qualifications:Significant experience with financial planning and decision support systems (Strata, Epsi or Axiom)Seven (7) years of progressively responsible work experience in a leadership position in a medical practice setting, healthcare administration or closely related field.Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned dutiesMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobKnowledge of process improvement methodologies, including planning, setting priorities, systematic performance assessment, implementation based on such assessment and maintaining achieved improvementExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishExcellent understanding of healthcare finance, financial and analytical skills and ability to develop financial models using Excel, Access or other applicationsExcellent strategic planning skills to develop long and short range goals and objectivesExcellent customer service skillsDemonstrated knowledge of strategic planning and change management principlesBachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.Ability to work autonomously and use independent sound judgmentAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the UC Irvine Health Affairs and work effectively with diverse stakeholders, especially physiciansAbility to accurately analyze complex financial and accounting data and effectively communicate it to a wide variety of executives, faculty, and other constituents in lay termsAbility to accomplish results and effectively integrate functions with business plans.
