Construction / Erosion Control Career OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Pricing and Analytics to join a leading erosion control company based in Atlanta with operations throughout the Southeast. This executive-level role is pivotal to the strategic direction of the company’s pricing and estimating functions. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience from high-volume estimating teams, such as large general contractors or subcontractors, and a strong background in market analysis, cost estimation, and pricing strategy. In this role, you will support a team of 9 with plans to grow the team further.

Job Highlights
Strategic Leadership:
Lead and develop pricing strategies to secure high-margin wins. Work closely with Sales, Estimating, and Operations to ensure jobs are priced appropriately and market trends are considered.
Market Analysis & Standardization:
Perform in-depth market research to establish standardized pricing models across various regions. Continuously use data from wins and losses to refine the bidding process for better outcomes.
High-Volume Estimating Expertise:
Oversee a large volume of quotes, balancing precision with speed and managing thousands of estimates in collaboration with a skilled team. Experience with large contractors and high-volume environments is crucial.
Executive Influence:
This is a higher-level role with strategic impact, requiring close collaboration with the executive team to drive pricing decisions that align with company goals.
Director of Pricing and Analytics ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Management
Develop and execute pricing strategies that maximize profit margins and win rates.
Foster a collaborative and efficient team environment, coordinating efforts between Sales, Estimating, and Operations.
Set departmental objectives and success metrics, continuously working to optimize performance.
Estimating and Cost Analysis
Oversee the preparation of accurate and detailed cost estimates for erosion control and construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Perform thorough project reviews and cost analysis, ensuring all estimates reflect current market conditions and are standardized across regions.
Collaborate with Operations and Purchasing to ensure all costs are updated and accounted for in each estimate.
Bid Preparation and Proposal Development
Lead the development of competitive bid proposals, refining pricing strategies and value engineering solutions.
Present estimates in the most optimal way to clients, working with Sales and Operations to ensure clarity and effectiveness.
Track and analyze job wins and losses, using the insights to continuously improve the bidding process and profitability.
Market Research and Benchmarking
Conduct extensive market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and competitive positioning.
Benchmark estimating practices and costs against industry standards to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
Regularly review pricing presentations and engage with key stakeholders to optimize the likelihood of winning bids.
Financial Management
Monitor estimating budgets and resources to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
Present regular reports on estimating performance, project profitability, and departmental metrics to senior leadership.
Review and adjust margin and revenue reports to ensure optimal profitability across all estimates.
Client and Vendor Relations
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Address any issues or concerns related to estimates or project costs in a timely and professional manner.
Director of Pricing and Analytics Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience (preferred but not required).
Minimum of 7 years of estimating experience within the erosion control or construction industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience managing high-volume estimating teams in environments similar to large GCs or subcontractors.
Expertise in cost estimation, pricing strategy, and market analysis.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, Timberline).
