81861BRJob Summary:The Department of Neurology is looking for an experienced and collaborative team member to join the Administrative Services Unit, comprising the Administrative Core Team (ACT) and Financial Transactions Services (FTS). The Administrative Services Analyst will serve a dual role providing comprehensive administrative support and transaction support for the department. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating department events in partnership with the Chair's Office and reviewing financial processes such as reimbursements, meeting and entertainment transactions, honorariums, and miscellaneous payments. The analyst will also work closely with both the Lead Administrative Services Analyst and the Finance team. This role requires a high level of autonomy and the ability to handle complex tasks with minimal supervision. This analyst will interact with many people across the department, internal and external, in various dynamics and levels of seniority. The position is hybrid, with one to three days per week of onsite work, depending on event and task requirements.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position is $75,700 - $123,100 (Annual Rate).Department Description:The Department of Neurology is a teaching, research, and clinical care unit within the School of Medicine (SOM). The Department of Neurology is a large, multi-site department, with locations including Mission Bay, Parnassus, Mt. Zion, ZSFG, VAMC, and the Gladstone Institutes, and is affiliated with the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences. The department is constructed of 14 administrative divisions with 11 clinical specialties. The department has 250+ faculty and academic employees, 300+ staff positions, and 182 trainees including: residents (50), clinical fellows (47), and postdoctoral scholars (85). The Department has an annual operating budget in excess of $120M and has consistently been the top recipient of NIH funding across all U.S. Departments of Neurology, in addition to being the #1 or #2 recipient of philanthropic dollars across all departments at UCSF. The department is also ranked #1 nationally by US News and World Reports for its clinical care.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent of 3 years related experience/training.Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.Intermediate-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs and Smartsheet.Minimum 3+ years of related experience.Preferred Qualifications:Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and/or personnel management.Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and/or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees.About UCSF:The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is a leading university dedicated to promoting health worldwide through advanced biomedical research, graduate-level education in the life sciences and health professions, and excellence in patient care.
