The IT Director I serves as the IT liaison for each department in an organization. Understands all business processes for their particular business discipline and provides technology guidance to ensure maximum ROI for IT business strategy requirements. Facilitates and serves as a lead for the planning and execution of initiatives to enable the organization to achieve objectives through the effective use of technology. Communicates decisions, priorities and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding service requests, projects and initiatives. With the VP IT, CIO and business partners, develops long-term systems and strategic growth plans. Develops and executes vision and strategy aligned with the company’s business goals. Plans and manages a respective portfolio of IT and business process work based on discipline. Recruits, selects, coaches, and develops team leadership, engineering, and support staff within vertical team. Assists with managing professional growth and development plans along with functional manager(s). Primary Job Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and support for Pulte's accounting applications, ensuring alignment with the organization's financial processes and objectives. Collaborate with the accounting and finance teams to understand their requirements and deliver IT solutions that enhance accounting operations. Builds and fosters business partnerships and maintains on-going business relationships. Serves as the point of contact for business area relationships. Manage the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of accounting systems to improve efficiency and compliance. Translates high-level strategy and product direction into business solutions. Ensures business objectives and operating model are understood and factored into IT strategy. Defines key strategies for the IT delivery model of an organization. Works with financial leadership on annual IT budgets and forecasts. Works with architects to understand new technology trends and forecast future IT infrastructure requirements. Leads stakeholder (internal and, when appropriate, external) business planning and strategy meetings. Works with senior leadership to develop team goals in line with department objectives. Conducts performance and development reviews per HR guidelines. Takes corrective actions, including Performance Improvement Plans and terminations, when necessary. Translates and champions IT functional strategy to vertical discipline. Other duties as assigned. Management Responsibilities Ensures appropriate staffing to meet department needs Utilizes recruiting and selection tools/processes to build organizational talent Delegates work according to employee’s abilities and skills Evaluates employee’s performance and plans for compensation actions in accordance with that performance Provides developmental opportunities through identification of internal and external training opportunities Creates opportunities for employee growth Provides continuous coaching with regard to functional and leadership standards (technical skills and behaviors) Scope Decision Impact: Corporate Department Responsibility: Single Budgetary Responsibility: Yes Direct Reports: Yes Indirect Reports: Yes Physical Requirements: Not applicable Required Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business or a related field, or equivalent work experience Experience successfully leading large, complex projects and/or in business/IT consulting/management roles Minimum of 6 years of progressive technical experience Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience. Thorough knowledge of software development lifecycle and project management methodologies Broad understanding of business practices and operations Ability to work autonomously Required Skills/Knowledge A strong understanding of accounting principles is required; a background in accounting or financial systems is preferred. Experience working with accounting systems, financial software, or enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms is highly beneficial. Ability to bridge the gap between IT and finance, ensuring technical solutions meet accounting needs.
