With over 850 team members, we're a growing company in an essential sector – agriculture!The Vice President of Finance – Wenger Global Procurement (WGP) has responsibility for all business financial records and related financial reporting of the businesses, divisions, and operations within the Wenger Global Procurement Business Unit.The VP of Finance position will lead the WGP accounting team, ensuring a timely financial close process and accurate financial reporting to both TWG Corporate Finance and to all stakeholders within WGP. The position will partner with the Business Unit President to drive revenue growth, enhance margins, and manage costs in support of the company's strategy. The role is responsible for designing and maintaining an effective internal control environment, including compliance with corporate accounting policies.Primary ResponsibilitiesProvide effective leadership, people management, and professional development to build a high performing accounting team to support the activities of WGP and capable of delivering financial planning, reporting, and analysis necessary to drive business results and inform decision making.Lead the mark-to-market accounting processes related to the agricultural commodity positions of Nutrify and Risser Grain, which requires accounting expertise in understanding derivatives used in agricultural commodity hedging programs as well as cost ownership over cash inventory positions.Direct and manage all accounting and pricing functions operated within WGP.Lead and direct the period end financial close for all WGP business/divisions/operations to produce accurate and timely financial reporting to TWG's Corporate Controller. Ensure the preparation of financial statements and management reporting for WGP.Collaborate with Corporate treasury on liquidity requirements and cash flow sources/uses of WGP.Lead the WGP BU budgeting and forecasting processes to develop required reporting for TWG Corporate Finance. Such planning activity will include balance sheet, profit and loss, and cash flow information. Regularly monitor business results and report variances to budget and forecast and propose corrective measures as appropriate.Analyze operations and results to identify areas of potential margin enhancement or increased cost effectiveness. Develop actionable plans to improve results including development and priority of investments in collaboration with TWG's Capital Project Management team. Responsible for developing the long-term financial strategies and business development opportunities for WGP.Participate in TWG business development activities as needed. This includes WGP specific investment opportunities as well as commodity risk management elements in any TWG due diligence process.Collaborate with Corporate IT on financial systems planned and deployed in the WGP and serve as the BU leader over technology applications.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, or similar degreeTen (10) or more years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a corporate finance or accounting team of a manufacturing company, demonstrating competency and growth.Five or more years of people management experience with a successful record of hiring, retaining, and developing talent.Demonstrated analytical skills, focused on accuracy, timeliness, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills. Must be capable of both preparing and reviewing financial information.High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, PowerBI) and the business operating systems of WGP.Comfort with extracting and analyzing data as well as building reports/models from that data to produce information and reporting useful in management decisions.High sense of accountability and follow-through on commitmentsExcellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skillsStrong business and commercial acumen, ability to understand and communicate the financial impact of the business strategy and develop operational plans to execute the strategy.Continuous learning must be a priority of this role as market conditions are dynamic and the strategies deployed to be successful in different market environments are fluid and not fixed.
