CEMML is a research, education and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University (CSU). CEMML applies the latest and most appropriate science to promote the sustainable management of natural and cultural resources on Department of Defense (DoD) and other public lands. We provide technical support, conduct applied research, and offer career development and learning opportunities to support resource stewardship.Position Summary:
An Environmental Analyst – National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) position is available with the Colorado State University Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML). This position will support the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC) Detachment 2 Environmental office and will report to the Environmental Impact Analysis Process (EIAP) Division at the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) in San Antonio, TX. The position is located in-person at Joint Base Pearl Harbor in Hickam, Hawaiʻi. This position is an experienced NEPA practitioner who provides support to government staff and management of EIAP projects, including Environmental Assessments (EAs) and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs), from programming and validation through funding, execution via contracts, and completion of decision documents.Required Job Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Natural Resources Management, Archeology, or related field.Three or more years of technical experience with environmental planning/analysis, NEPA, and/or Air Force Instruction (or equivalent).Proven experience writing, editing, and reviewing environmental documents, such as Environmental Assessments.Demonstrated technical writing ability, clear communication skills, and attention to detail.A thorough understanding of most standard computer programs, as well as proficiency in database management and SharePoint systems.Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license by the employment start date.The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.Preferred Job Qualifications:Master’s degree in Environmental Planning, Natural Resources Management, Archeology, or related field.Demonstrated experience in natural and/or cultural resources regulatory requirements.Experience preparing or reviewing Environmental Impact Statements.Experience with Air Force EIAP.Experience in formal ESA Section 7 consultation.Experience with NHPA Section 106 consultations.Diversity Statement:
