Vice President, Technology , reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, leads the information technology direction for Ardent Health Services. Aligns technology initiatives with the company’s strategic goals, ensuring that technology resources are used efficiently and effectively to drive innovation and growth. Oversees development of enterprise standards for technology architecture, technology evaluation, conversion, management and provides leadership for the IT technology strategy development. Manages strategic vendor and partner relationships and leads technical and architectural aspects of enterprise-wide business decisions.The VP, Technology participates in and drives the technical aspects of strategic decisions regarding IT for the enterprise by implementing and managing those initiatives. Makes decisions for the organization based on the highest degree of technical complexity and with a thorough understanding of the far-reaching implications across the institution, the application, technology portfolio, and the technology infrastructure as a whole. Ensures coordination and integration of workflow with all clinical and operational areas and serves as a key liaison with the business leaders of Ardent Health Services.ResponsibilitiesIn conjunction with senior leadership, serves as a counselor to and catalyst for other business leaders in identifying new areas for technology improvement, resulting in improved patient care, improved operational efficiencies, and increased productivity.Provides technology vision and leadership for the planning and prioritization of technology projects.Drives a customer service culture for all team members focusing on strong operational discipline and the highest level of customer satisfaction.Serves as the organizational leader on highly significant matters related to technical platforms, capabilities, and long-range goals and objectives.Oversees the development of enterprise standards and technology architecture along with technology evaluation and transfer.Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with strategic vendors as well as user departments. Is viewed as a business partner by end users, other information technology leadership, and strategic partners inside and outside the organization.Maintains a work environment in which teamwork is valued and acknowledged. Monitors staff to ensure security and ethical policies are being followed.Counsels the organization based on the highest level of technical intricacy and has a thorough understanding of broad implications and how they affect the IT organization as a whole.Is responsible for the Data Center, network, architecture, Infrastructure and Desktop departments' operational and capital financial budgeting and performance. Performs annual reviews, conducts performance management discussions, and makes compensation decisions for direct reports.Participates in the development of long-range plans and stewardship of financial resources for the organization.QualificationsEducation & Experience:Bachelors’ degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.10+ years of leadership experience managing in a large complex geographically diverse technology environment.Project management experience.Strong written and oral communication skills. Extensive knowledge of the information technology infrastructure and application architecture including architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations.Experienced in managing multiple, large cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.10+ years of healthcare or hospital-related experience, preferred.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Advanced interpersonal skills necessary in order to interact in a leadership capacity in complex situations with various levels of the organization including staff, key business leaders, senior and executive management.Advanced analytical and communication skills necessary in order to organize, plan and coordinate tactical, operational and strategic activities of Ardent Health Services.A broad knowledge of health care and related systems applications, processes and technologies including, but not limited to the following areas: cloud architecture, disaster recovery, end user experience and AI or other emerging technologies.Proven change management with a global vision and a perspective in all areas of decision-making.Effective visionary leader that is adaptable and collaborative with high integrity, strategic focus, innovative and generates trust with colleagues.Excellent listener and presenter with an ability to translate complex information system data to a non-technical audience.Proven relationships with end users, subcontractors, consultants and vendors.Creative thinker with high energy and enthusiasm. Persuasive, confident and a good sense of humor.Makes decisions with confidence and with the ability to recognize and assess situations as well as communicate and remove barriers to effectuate solutions.Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
