Our client, a well known CPG brand, is seeking a strong Payroll and Benefits manager to oversee HR operations including payroll, benefits, 401k, audits, compliance, onboarding, and open enrollment. This role is best for someone who loves HR Operations.Location - El Segundo, CA 4 days onsiteCompensation - 100-120k Base + BonusScope:Payroll Processing:
Manage and execute the bi-weekly payroll process for all employees.HRIS Management:
Serve as the administrator for HRIS System, ensuring the system is optimized for company needs.Process Improvement:
Continuously evaluate payroll and HRIS processes, identifying and implementing system improvements and process automation to increase efficiency and accuracy.Compliance:
Ensure payroll and HRIS operations comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.Reporting & Analytics:
Generate regular and ad-hoc payroll and HR reports, offering insights to HR and Finance teams. Use HRIS data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.Employee Relations:
Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees, including questions regarding tax withholdings, benefit deductions, and direct deposit.Systems Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvement and optimization.Tax Filings:
Oversee preparation and submission of payroll taxes, including federal, state, and local tax filings, as well as W-2s and 1099s.Audit Management:
Support internal and external audits related to payroll and benefits by providing necessary documentation and reports.Benefits Administration Support:
Coordinate with HR to ensure correct payroll deductions for benefits, retirement plans, and other employee-related deductions. Manage employee data within the HRIS to ensure benefits are administered properly.Manage benefits processes, including LOA, Workers Compensation, Open Enrollment, Vendor Management.People Leadership:
Manage two direct reports who focus on payroll and benefits.Qualifications:8-10 years in a Payroll + Benefits focused role.Strong foundational knowledge of HR policies, HR or payroll certifications desired.Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and collaborativelyAttention to detail and strong organizational skillsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
