Scope of Job
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School Of Medicine is seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible physicians in Urology. They will participate in scholarly activity, faculty development, patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, prepare and provide didactics, participate in the evaluation of the residents and medical students, develop programs and preparation for
CLER and RRC site visits. While previous experience in a residency program teaching role is preferred, individuals just finishing residency/fellowship training are highly encouraged to apply. Faculty are expected to administer and maintain a professional educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competencies and in assisting them to reach their individual Milestones, plus educating medical students in the practice of Urology.
Minimum Qualifications
Board Certified or Board eligible in Urology, MD, DO or equivalent degree from an accredited institution and licensed in the State of Texas.
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
Completion of an ACGME accredited urology residency training program and Certified by the American Board of Urology.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in educating general surgery residents in a GME
Program and medical students in an accredited medical school.

UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may
require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is
performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive
and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code
§51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of
Texas ( TRS ), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least
135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement
Program ( ORP ) instead of TRS , subject to the position being 40 hours per week
and at least 135 days in length.
