Project Engineer Co-op - Multiple Locations

As a Project Engineer Co-op at SteelFab, you’ll immerse yourself in the diverse and dynamic world of the construction industry. Working closely with our Project Management and Estimating teams, you’ll gain hands-on experience across various projects. During your three co-op rotations, you’ll progressively build your expertise, taking on key responsibilities that will enhance your skills and prepare you for a successful career.Key Responsibilities:Collaboration:

Engage with the Estimating department to gather subcontractor pricing for new project estimates.Scope Analysis:

Review and analyze subcontractor bids to ensure alignment with project specifications.Material and Labor Take-Offs:

Perform detailed material and labor take-offs.Pricing Reviews:

Prepare pricing recaps for senior leadership.Site Visits:

Visit job sites to build relationships with clients and vendors.Fabrication Shop Experience:

Gain hands-on experience with the fabrication flow and production processes, deepening your understanding of the entire construction lifecycle.Second Rotation: Project ManagementSchedule Management:

Oversee and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of all project milestones.Procurement:

Draft and issue purchase orders and subcontracts to vendors.Change Management:

Prepare and submit pricing for change order requests.Design Review:

Evaluate design drawing revisions to identify and manage scope changes effectively.Client and Vendor Relations:

Conduct job site visits to foster strong relationships with clients and vendors, ensuring alignment on project goals.Coordination:

Manage the coordination of construction drawings and models, and review submittals for compliance and accuracy.Issue Resolution:

Collaborate with onsite subcontractors to identify and resolve field issues.Third Rotation: Estimating or Project ManagementThe work area will be determined based on the Co-ops’ performance/preference.
