Project Engineer Co-op - Multiple Locations
Start Timeframe: January 2025 or May 2025Job Summary:As a Project Engineer Co-op at SteelFab, you’ll immerse yourself in the diverse and dynamic world of the construction industry. Working closely with our Project Management and Estimating teams, you’ll gain hands-on experience across various projects. During your three co-op rotations, you’ll progressively build your expertise, taking on key responsibilities that will enhance your skills and prepare you for a successful career.Key Responsibilities:Collaboration:
Engage with the Estimating department to gather subcontractor pricing for new project estimates.Scope Analysis:
Review and analyze subcontractor bids to ensure alignment with project specifications.Material and Labor Take-Offs:
Perform detailed material and labor take-offs.Pricing Reviews:
Prepare pricing recaps for senior leadership.Site Visits:
Visit job sites to build relationships with clients and vendors.Fabrication Shop Experience:
Gain hands-on experience with the fabrication flow and production processes, deepening your understanding of the entire construction lifecycle.Second Rotation: Project ManagementSchedule Management:
Oversee and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of all project milestones.Procurement:
Draft and issue purchase orders and subcontracts to vendors.Change Management:
Prepare and submit pricing for change order requests.Design Review:
Evaluate design drawing revisions to identify and manage scope changes effectively.Client and Vendor Relations:
Conduct job site visits to foster strong relationships with clients and vendors.Coordination:
Manage the coordination of construction drawings and models, and review submittals for compliance and accuracy.Issue Resolution:
Collaborate with onsite subcontractors to identify and resolve field issues.Third Rotation: Estimating or Project ManagementThe work area will be determined based on the Co-ops’ performance/preference.
