POSITION PURPOSE

The primary function of this position is to support the monthly accounting closes by performing analyses within the department and preparing audit support to ensure the successful completion of all audits. Cash forecasting and cash reconciliations are also primary functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

DATA ENTRY & INTEGRITY:

Prepare and support all required journal entries

Prepare support for tax returns

Review BVRs to ensure proper coding and classification

Prepare daily cash forecasts

Serve as administrator for the banking system

REPORTING & ANALYSIS:

Analyze accounts such as prepaids, misc. accruals, misc. receivables, straight line rent accruals, intercompany accounts, and deposits

Monthly cash reconciliations

Provide support in the preparation of financial statements

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, monitor and analyze departmental and company-wide budgets and forecasts, providing insights on financial performances and variances.

CLIENT ENGAGEMENT:

Significant auditor interaction with PWC, banks and all state audits.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:

In-depth understanding of GAAP

Advanced excel skills and good understanding of systems

SPECIAL PROJECTS:

Automate cash forecasting process

Automate bank reconciliations

Assist in the development of new processes to improve the timeliness and accuracy of current reporting and analysis.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

Ability to complete various tasks while adhering to deadlines

Ability to understand advanced accounting and draw appropriate conclusions that result in necessary journal entries

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting/finance or equivalent work experience

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

Advanced excel skills and understanding of GAAP

Knowledge of fixed assets required

Lease and/or Construction in Progress (CIP) experience preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

5-10 years of accounting experience

SALARY RANGE:

$85,000 - $105,000 annually
