Product Support is responsible for many facets of the business. A high-level overview of Product Support’s areas of responsibility includes, but is not limited to, customer communication, technical publications, engine maintenance training, technical troubleshooting, aftermarket business planning and forecasting, inventory and component repair forecasting, inventory warehouse management, global hardware distribution, customer orders and invoicing, maintenance contracts, maintenance scheduling, service facility contracts, and fleet data collection and analysis, along with product improvement prioritization and coordination with Project Engineering. In addition, the Product Support team includes an FAA Part 145 repair station that is responsible for the maintenance and test of customer turbine engines and component repair.The role of the Operations and Development Engineer is instrumental in growing the efficiency of Product Support across its many facets. This role will be responsible for researching various hardware and software technologies, designing or selecting solutions, and applying them to Product Support. Additionally, this role interfaces with Design and Project Engineering to ensure fleet data of our engines is taken into account in new component and engine designs to assure our products are the most reliable in the industry.The selected candidate will focus on a subset of the wide variety of activities the role offers and will be able to apply their specific skillset while gaining newer skills working within Product Support. The Operations and Development Engineer may do some or all of the following:Design, program, and implement software solutions for use by the Product Support organization as well as other internal and external customers.Design and implement various hardware devices, program real-time software applications, and implement various analytics, automations, and artificial intelligence to be used by the Product Support organization.Work directly with OEMs and various customers throughout the world to establish support structures to assure proper engine maintenance and operation of the engines on their aircraft.Build and maintain partnerships on new programs, monitoring and streamlining aftermarket operations, developing process improvements, and analyzing various sets of data.Additionally, the Product Support Operations and Development Engineer may do the following:Develop and monitor analytics to establish operating capacity for various activities such as engine or component repairs.Routinely analyze data to monitor various business processes as well as create and implement process improvements, including developing applications, automations, artificial intelligence, and analytics that reduce cost and increase efficiency and monitor progress and capacity.Use and develop various Business Plan forecasting models: cash flow estimates, manpower determination, warranty and maintenance program reserve determination and exposure, cost analysis, audit support.Field Campaigns: Coordinate MRP demands for hardware, manage/prioritize demands versus available assets, estimate and oversee costs versus projections, execute requirements of service bulletins and ADs, present and coordinate with the FAA on progress, present and inform leadership of obstacles and/or progress.Regularly review engineering data and maintenance publications to provide feedback for improvements to ensure various aftermarket considerations are addressed.Be a point of contact with aircraft OEM for aftermarket and Product Support issues and needs.May represent the company at conferences and various shows.Interface with multiple teams within the company, including I.T., Engineering, Finance, and executive leadership to develop operational solutions and objectives.Other various tasks may be assigned with gained experience or related to individual skill set.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering (or similar technical discipline) and also business acumen. MBA desired, but not required.Must have strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Strong math and statistics skills are required.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software.Prior knowledge of various enterprise software such as ERP, MRP, MES, CRM is beneficial, but not required.Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.U.S. citizenship status is required.Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.
