Specifically, we are growing our Sustainability practice to drive end-to-end sustainability solutions in real estate, from site selection to decommissioning. As a member of the JLL Sustainable Operations team, you will support coordination of the implementation of the water and waste management strategy and supporting processes, programs, targets, reports, and projects to achieve scope of work delivery and goals.This position requires in-office work 5 days per week, near Sunnyvale, CA.Key responsibilities include:Provide support to sustainability team, specific to water and waste program goals, collaborating with team members as needed.Support subject matter experts in water and waste stewardship, water equity, and resiliency.Able to quantify the impact of programs and policies relative to these issues.Partner with internal and external stakeholders to determine upstream opportunities for reduction and/or conservation.Support developing policies and procedures for water and waste reduction/reuse from real estate projects and operations.Improve upon processes and procedures for data collection and monitoring to support data analytics. Ensure adherence and ongoing tracking of results.Monitor financial performance of all initiatives. Work with the team to track and improve performance with proactive use of data.Calculate Return on Investment (ROI) through Cost Benefit Analysis on new pilots and programs related to carbon, waste, and water.Responsible for vetting and supporting innovative sustainability strategies including zero wastewater, xeriscaping, gray water reuse, carbon impact of projects, etc.Research and stay current on industry trends and related regulatory issues to enhance the program, educate and train teams of associates and subcontractors.Optimize relationships with utility, municipal, and technology partners to improve performance and reduce program costs.Interface with external industry associations, regulatory agencies, and other partners.Ensure programs developed follow all contracts, laws, rules, and regulations governing program activities at local, state, and national levels.Travel locally across the portfolio to support program requirements and initiatives.Establish strong working relationships with workstreams to deliver against KPI targets.Effectively network cross-functionally to collaborate with other JLL service lines on the account (technology, finance, projects, IFM, consultants, and procurement) to elevate the sustainability mission and objectives, and drive implementation where most organic within the business.With a cross-functional view, effectively manage changes in partnership with stakeholders, which have the potential to impact water and waste program objectives.Ensure success stories are tracked and communicated to ensure a high level of awareness and engagement is achieved with regard to the overall sustainability program and client’s success.Demonstrate innovative thinking and proactive management in bringing new ideas and solutions to the services delivery, and ensure they are rolled out effectively.Provide SME input and own program components (e.g., content development, maintenance) related to SME area.Support the coordination of site level waste audits, collaborating with the janitorial, food, facilities team, and more.Support data entry for sustainability reporting.Management of waste sensor fleet through data monitoring, vendor coordination, and city waste schedule validation.Research new technologies that will help reach our reduction goals or streamline processes.Sound like you? To apply you need to be/have:University degree, demonstrating subject matter expertise (e.g., Sustainability related degree; Environmental Engineer, etc.); Professional certificates or accreditation such as LEED or TRUE.3-4 years’ experience in sustainable operations and/or engineering of commercial buildings, with experience leading water, waste, energy, or carbon program(s).Strong operations experience in large multi-dimensional organization with focus on operations management, productivity, stakeholder engagement/communications, or engineering excellence and embody a bias for action.Strong data management experience.Strong experience in water management & automation systems and metering.Passionate about working towards a sustainable future.An excellent understanding of the key sustainability issues for corporate occupiers of real estate including, but not limited to: decarbonization, embodied carbon, circularity, resource preservation, biodiversity, climate risk, health & wellbeing, and social value creation.Demonstrated experience in influencing cross-functional teams.Experience working with corporate clients, commercial property, property managers, and an understanding of the landlord and tenant relationship is desirable.Excellent ability to build relationships with clients and their internal teams.Proven project management experience and excellent communication skills.Attention to detail and accuracy in written and numeric work.Ability to obtain buy-in and engagement from employees at all levels.Behavioral CompetenciesThink Big - Thinks strategically, simplifies the complex, solves complex problems, sees the big picture.Drive Change - Thrives on change, learning agility, intellectually curious, appetite for risks, digital drive.Helps others - Builds relationships, actively collaborates, helps others succeed.Get it done - Acts decisively, drives results, passion to win, takes ownership, accountable, resilient.Business first - Focuses on customers and clients, business/financial acumen.Inspire - Inspire others, creates services strategy and supporting tactical plans, energizes others.Estimated total compensation for this position:84,000.00 – 121,000.00 USD per yearThe total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed.
