Job Description:
The IT Systems Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, configuration, and maintenance of our IT systems, focusing on Fortinet firewalls, switches, routers, and Dell servers. This role also includes managing VMware environments and Azure-based services. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background in system administration, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize the infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Familiarity with
Fortinet firewalls, switches, and routers
.
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot
Dell servers
and related Dell hardware.
Oversee and manage
VMware environments
hosted on on-premise and
Azure
platforms.
Ensure system stability, security, and performance across all platforms.
Monitor and maintain network protocols and services, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
Implement security policies and handle patch management for all systems.
Perform regular system backups and manage disaster recovery processes.
Collaborate with the IT team on system upgrades, new implementations, and technology improvements.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Provide technical support to internal users as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
Three (3) years of relevant work experience
in IT systems administration.
Experience managing
Fortinet firewalls, switches, and routers
.
Hands-on experience with
Dell hardware and servers
.
Strong knowledge of
VMware
environments and
Azure
cloud services.
Proficient with network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fortinet certifications (e.g., NSE4, NSE5) or equivalent experience.
Experience with
Azure cloud services
.
VMware certifications or equivalent experience.
