Leads training and education efforts, conducts outreach for the homeless community, and maintains organized records of code violations. Essential Functions/ Job Competencies/ Physical Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff. Supervisory functions include: makes hiring and termination decisions; prioritizes assignments and directs work; develops and oversees employee work schedules and approves time away from work; provides and/or facilitates employee training and development; approves/processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; completes employee performance appraisals; determines or makes recommendations regarding new hire salaries and salary changes; and acts as liaison between employees and management.Performs administrative functions, such as report building, compiling, and revision for daily work orders, goals, current standings, past dues, and future projections; maintains files. Provides accounting for department budget, including account requisitions, payables, receivables, and purchasing. Revises CDBG inspector's reports.Coordinates homeless outreach and cleans up for designated area(s) downtown. Assists Community Development Program with outreach to homeless community and coordination of area cleanup efforts. Provides customer service to citizens reporting violations and concerns; educates citizens on city and department procedures and compliance requirements. Coordinates operation clean ups and neighborhood blitzes with other city departments to encourage citizen to meet and maintain compliance all property codes. Supervises graffiti program and assists with special assignments related to graffiti removal. Valid Licenses and Certifications Required Licenses and CertificationsTexas Department of Licensing & Regulation Enforcement Officer Certification Valid Texas Driver License.
