We are looking to add a leader to our controlling team as an
FP&A Director.
Internally, this position is called the Head of Controlling, and it supports the business strategy by overseeing financial and operational planning for tesa North America. As a key partner to various stakeholders, you will lead the review and analysis of the region's performance (including tesa, tesa Mexico, Functional Coatings, and tesa Plant Sparta). Your insights will help shape decisions and drive the successful execution of the regional strategy. You'll work with all levels of the organization, using your ability to explain financial forecasts based on past and present data. This role will challenge, influence, and turn insights into actionable steps across the organization.
What you'll do:Partner with key stakeholders in Hamburg, Germany and the regional executive, functional and business unit leadership team to lead the regional periodic financial planning, forecasting, monitoring and measurement of performance (inclusive of annual and long-range business planning).Develop and oversee financial strategies and plans to achieve the organization's long-term goals.Ensure viability of financial plans, profitable sales growth and support the implementation of strategies.Support the strategy development process and corporate target development (e.g. corporate bonus systems), partnering with the leadership team to implement appropriate measurement systems for company performance.Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.Prepare and present regular financial reports to senior management and stakeholders, providing a clear understanding of the company's financial performance, key business drivers and variance to plan, inclusive of key insights requiring attention to drive action.Lead initiatives to improve financial performance and drive business growth.Build and maintain complex financial models to support business decisions.Track financial performance against budgets and forecasts and recommend corrective actions.Provide expertise and advice to functional and business unit leaders to help them develop budgets, understand financial reports, and manage their financial responsibilities.Act as a financial advisor to other departments, providing insights and recommendations.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.Develop and maintain planning and budgeting systems.Perform ad-hoc analyses to support specific business needs or opportunities.Other duties as assigned.Key Competencies:
Strong ability to analyze complex financial data and produce actionable insights.Strong relationship and influence skills with high degree of diplomacy.Comfort challenging leaders to drive return on investment and operational improvements.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.Ability to think strategically and align financial planning with business objectives.Strong problem-solving capabilities to address financial challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial analysis and reporting.Ability to prioritize objectives in a fast-paced environment to ensure key deliverables are met in a timely manner.What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related technical business field (MBA preferred).12+ years of financial and business analysis experience, ideally in a global, process-driven manufacturing company with a minimum of 5+ years of people leadership and development experience.Project Management experience (preferred).Advanced MS Office skills preferred - SAP experience a significant advantage.
