Primary responsibilities (Others may be assigned):
Install and start-up new/reworked automotive testing equipmentConduct maintenance, troubleshooting, and machine inspectionsGive training presentationsStart-up and test machinery on plant floor before shipmentConduct final acceptance testing at customer siteDevelop thorough technical knowledge of the particular product line assignedProduce timely and accurate trip reports following service callsSupervise outside labor contractors for turnkey installationsPrepare parts and rework kits prior to shipmentEngage in machine assembly work as neededPerform other duties as assignedJob Requirements:
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with strong mechanical background preferredGood working knowledge of machinery and/or willingness to learn the skills needed to become an experienced Field Service Engineer1-2 year's field experience preferredSelf-motivated and understands the importance of being a team player to achieve organizational goals and is able to work effectively under pressureAble and willing to travel (20-25%) outside of the Detroit areaValid Driver's License and Clean Driving RecordKnowledge of PLC's, with ability to understand and read ladder logic preferredAble to understand electronic and computer hardware functionality and use knowledge to troubleshoot equipment to board levelExperience with "C" programming preferredExperience in performing closed-loop system tuning and identifying system characteristics and limitations a plus
