This position is primarily responsible for the delivering direction service, leading the operation and support of Wellness programming in school-based Y youth development programs in the Central Maryland Region. As a part of our commitment to narrowing the achievement gap and helping every child and youth succeed in school and in life, the purpose of this position is focused on positive youth development, childhood obesity prevention and enhancement for youth sports and wellness programming through partnership and collaboration with donors, school, community and internal Y stakeholders. The position includes staffing, training, programming, fiscal management, data collection and management, evaluation and reporting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Directs and manages Wellness programs that are tailored to the community and age appropriate. May be responsible for the oversight of all physical areas in multiple facilities at the time program is in sessionCollaborate with Y Family Centers and community partners to ensure successful communication, program planning, implementation and support of program growthProvides direct leadership to teach, coach and lead programs and services as assigned; May be responsible for teaching classes within area of responsibility and support of associates in providing high quality programmingUtilizes originality and entrepreneurial mindset and skills to create and sustain robust programsConducts training and provides quality assurance assistance for internal and external program partnersConsolidates, analyzes, and evaluates program data to ultimately assess program impact and effectivenessMaintains a system of internal controls to monitor the financial activity of programs and activities. Creates and manages program budget with fidelityManages programmatic reporting and works with finance department on financial reporting for grants assigned as required by the funding agencies. Evaluates and monitors grants for compliance and identifies potential funding sources and collaborations to enhance programs.Provides leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaigns as assigned and participates as a vital part of the management team to provide exemplary services to the community. This includes sharing responsibility or leading fund raising campaigns, and participation in special events.Investigates potential partnership relationships as discovered through volunteers, parents, employers, and affiliations and is responsible for leading business development and philanthropic efforts proactively and continuouslyEvaluates and maintains an understanding of child safety standards and maintains program areas and equipment in an orderly and safe manner, according to Y in Central Maryland standardsMaintains knowledge of accurate completion of incident reports, emergency procedures, and applicable risk management training, and directs all aspects of safety related to associates, equipment, environment and behaviorSupervises and guides direct reports and their activities to meet the needs of the school community, expectations of funders, and Y standard objectives; leads and plans associate team meetingsParticipates in the recruitment, training, scheduling and supervision of direct reports. Tracks certifications of direct reports to support delivery of high quality programs and servicesProvide excellent customer service to members and program participantsOther duties as assigned
