is seeking a Senior Communications Specialist with a current active Secret Security Clearance to support

and our government customer in Falls Church, VA.

The position will be in direct support of the CDAO's Office of Public Affairs and Communications. This position requires an experienced person with demonstrated strategic communications and public affairs experience, superior professional demeanor, and the ability to accomplish a wide variety of day-to-day responsibilities that ensure program success.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:Conduct stakeholder analysis to define and assess key partners across the Government Customer's organization, teaming partners, and key external stakeholders.Develop and implement a communications plan for the Government Customer to define key communications vehicles, messaging, and key engagement metrics. Elements of this plan will identify strengths, weaknesses, audiences, stakeholders, and create key performance indicators, as directed by the Government Customer, to measure the effectiveness of the communications strategy.Develop and implement branding strategy to help define and strengthen Government Customer's brand within the organization and externally.Analyze messages and processes to ensure communication for the organization is effective, efficient, and aligned to organizational priorities/lines of effort.Develop various communications deliverables, including messages from leadership to varying audiences, draft responses to customer questions, and talking points for key events.Design, develop, and maintain Government Customer presentations for usage in internal and external communications, events, and presentations including speaker preparation for important meetings and engagements. Aligns content to speaker voice and to the needs of specific audiences.Provide technical writing, copy-editing, and proofreading of various communications and liaising with numerous Subject Matter Experts to interpret, summarize, analyze, and visually represent data, analyses, and messages.Work closely with other Communications Team members to create superior work products.Assist with vetting information and materials with leadership, senior staff, related stakeholders, and other offices as needed throughout the organization.Assist in the production of infographics and illustrations to support all client materials, internal and external including the development of corresponding digital communications products (e.g., fact sheets, presentations, press statements, etc.).Assist in the creation of social media content, particularly for Twitter and LinkedIn.Assist with developing, implementing, and updating strategic communications plans, including but not limited to individual event promotion, stakeholder engagement plans, program communications, and social media campaigns.Assist in the development and tracking of performance metrics and reports on emergent trends and new opportunities to engage stakeholders.Engage in independent research to contextualize and supplement information for presentations and briefings; assists with background research on speaking engagements, organizations, and audience analysis.Provide planning and logistical support for meetings, forums, and training, as well as tracking the effectiveness of these events.Requirements:

10 years of experience providing communications support for a large complex organizationExperience developing communications plans and products for Federal Government customers.Experience identifying communications channels and priorities for an organization.Strong written and oral communication skills and able to prepare, present, and support briefs to and for senior leaders.Exceptional interpersonal and written and verbal communication skillsMust be a self-starter and able to manage competing demands.Strong ability to speak with confidence and energy in public, virtual platforms, and over the phone.Experience briefing leaders with little notice and preparation.Experience writing clearly and succinctly; creating a variety of communication products (including but not limited to brochures, facts sheets, reports, presentations, briefs, white papers, executive talking points, speeches, newsletters articles, blogs,etc.) that resonate with target audiences; and choosing the optimal communication methods and channels.Experience developing and editing presentations, reports, and strategic messages to explain technical information to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge (novice to expert)Advanced MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Google Docs skillsEducation:

Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related disciplineSecurity Pre-Requisite:

To be considered, must have a CURRENT/ACTIVE

SECRET

security clearance and be upgradable to TOP SECRET/SCI.

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
