Substance Use Disorder Management Supervisor

Position Summary:

Supervises BHSI SUD staff, including SUD Assessment Coordinators, SUD Management Specialist, and SUD Service Management Assistants. This position involves administrative and clinical supervision, management of specified resource allocations and the development and maintenance of relationships with service providers. The Manager of the Clinical Unit supervises the SUD Management Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities :Oversees and supervises all daily clinical operations. Conducts formal supervision, team meetings, and provides case reviews as needed. Able to manage use of resources and staff to accomplish prioritized task. Encourages clinically competent, ethically sound decision making that reflect the core values of the departmentAssists in hiring and training SUD management and SUD support staff.Recommends procedures and guidelines for the clinical management process of the Program. Manages caseload development, assigns cases within established parameters, continuously evaluates and monitors the performance of individual clinicians and the team, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, and defining needs for training.Supervises daily recording of service statistics. Completes monthly statistical reports and prepares other written materials as assigned.Develops and maintains relationships with other SCA staff, CBH, Division of Behavioral Health staff, providers, and stakeholders and works collaboratively with them to assure best service delivery to individuals and families receiving services.Assists in development of orientation and training. Provides in-services and training for staff through formal supervision and team meetings and plans and participates in other training as directed.Provides support to all aspects of clinical management. Ensure coverage of screening line, SUD management units to ensure continuity of care and optimize services delivery.Convenes team meetings on a regular basis and participates in meetings which are direct service related, interdepartmental or community driven.Assists in development and coordination of outreach. Coordinates and provides community education for staff as assigned.Other duties as assigned.Narrative: Developing, implementing, and monitoring the written plan for clinical supervision; ensuring all clinical staff obtains/maintains licensure or addictions certification; providing direct services through screening and assessment; facilitating and documenting multidisciplinary treatment planning and other duties as required.

Skills Required:

Ability to follow a case from presentation through continuing support planning. Ability to supervise staff in a way that is supportive and motivating while ensuring that decisions are clinically and ethically sound. Second language abilities a plus.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in related field with 3 years of relevant work experience in SUDBachelor's degree in unrelated field and 5 years of relevant work experience in SUDMaster's degree in related field with 2 years of relevant work experience in SUDMaster's degree in unrelated field with 5 years of relevant work experience in SUD.Preference given to experience in the field of Managed Care, Public Health, or any of the behavioral health fields-based care and/or supervisory experience. This may include but not be limited to, assessing, screening, referral, counseling, therapist, utilization management.
