requirements:Five (5) or more years’ experience managing enterprise Unix and Linux environments.Preference:Experience with patching Unix or Linux systems.Experience managing an enterprise backup, replication, and recovery solutions. on job):Knowledge of RedHat Satellite.Knowledge of automation systems like Puppet or Ansible.Knowledge of vSphere/VMWare.Knowledge of SAN/NAS concepts, hardware, and infrastructure.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:This role involves technical work focused on the evaluation, installation, maintenance, and performance tuning of Solaris and Linux operating systems, hardware, and storage solutions. Responsibilities include installing and supporting multiple Oracle Solaris and Linux systems, troubleshooting to ensure 24/7 system availability, and researching and recommending software or hardware solutions. The role also includes monitoring and tuning system performance, managing system security, coordinating UNIX and Linux software installations, and supporting SANs and SAN Fabrics. Additionally, the position involves scripting for system management, diagnosing software issues, and assisting users with problem resolution. Continuous learning through technical publications, courses, and self-study is essential, along with conducting security monitoring and related reporting.
