The range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.Position SummaryThis position is dedicated to adding value to Pernod Ricard USA (PRUSA) and Chain Division customers by cross-functional collaboration with internal and distributor partners to develop Spirits Category Insights that assure PRUSA brand goals are met. The role will be responsible for supporting all Category Management responsibilities across the Chains Division priorities with the analysis of scan data, consumer/shopper insights, and industry trends to help uncover opportunities to drive sales and defend against competitive threats. The position may include some travel to key markets to review business performance, Category opportunities, and assist local market teams in reaching goals within the Chains Division.Key Components / Skill SetsCategory Management Acumen:
Following Category Management principles, must have ability to develop and articulate category strategies, analyze relevant data sources, link to shopper insights, and provide recommendations that grow the business.Commercial Knowledge:
Understanding of both retailer and distributor/wholesaler go-to-market strategies and create execution excellence across brand standards. Broad understanding of marketplace dynamics and impact to BevAlc environment. Take part in the development and integration of fact-based tools to move business forward via category management processes.Analytical Skills:
Ability to gather, synthesize, analyze, and present data from multiple systems/sources (examples: Nielsen, IRI, Spectra, HH Panel, Shipment, Depletion, etc.) and present in compelling/concise selling stories.Major Responsibilities / AccountabilitiesIdentify and commercialize best practice insights from industry trends, retail landscape and shopper behavior that support division and customer priorities.Provide thought leadership to customer, sales, and distributor teams by bringing category growth solutions rooted in insights.Deliver post-promotion evaluations and communicate areas of strength and opportunity.Track and benchmark new item innovation performance, shelf stock performance and pricing.Evaluate category management initiatives around distribution, pricing, promotions and shelf.Collaborate with cross functional teams such as Marketing, Finance and Ops to deliver category plans.Advance Chains Division selling tools to capitalize on category volume opportunities.Key Competencies and QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor’s Degree required.Experience / Background:
3+ years of previous sales analysis experience preferably in the wine and spirits industry or a CPG environment and category management support across a diverse number of retailers is required. Experience partnering with distributor and direct key accounts or channel responsibility is required. Prior experience leveraging shopper insights to support a customer is critical for this position.Required Skills/Competencies:
Demonstrates exceptional skill in critical thinking and communication, as well as a high level of data analysis, problem solving and analytical reasoning. Ability to organize and manage work to achieve results and track performance so that problems are detected early or prevented entirely are key competencies for success. Ability to gather, synthesize, analyze, and present data from multiple systems/sources. Understanding of both retailer and distributor/wholesaler go-to-market strategies. Broad understanding of marketplace dynamics and impact to BevAl environment. Must possess strong computer skills with a proficiency in MS Office - Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Demonstrate strong Nielsen / IRI analytical skills, JDA, Numerator and other Category Management software application skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as outstanding aptitude for time management. Successful at building relationships at customers and internally throughout the organization.
