Welcome! The PD Process Manager’s primary responsibility is to guide area process owners in next generation process development, which includes definition, characterization, and optimization of unit processes in preparation for transfer to high volume manufacturing. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Safety & Quality:
Finish the required safety training and ensures all work is conducted in accordance with safety policies
Drive a proactive safety environment and support the execution of EHS and PHA management systems
Identify areas of improvement and drives the team towards continuous improvements
Perform and facilitate audits and submits good catches on safety issues
Follow-up on safety and quality related issues and works towards resolution
Operate and maintain the area according to documentation and guidelines to ensure expectations are met
Use best known practices and network resources to stay aligned on best known methods
Communication & Collaboration:
Communicate goals, achievements, timelines, status and line-of-site with on a regular cadence
Partner with PD, ODE, PI to develop effective plans for process development and improvements to achieve part specifications
Partner with area program manager to ensure MOR flow accuracy and high confidence plan exist to close MOR_POR gap on time
Interact with equipment and consumable vendors to ensure alignment and timely progress on area roadmaps
Partner with EDE to support production objectives with regard to quality, recipe audits, constrained workstations, etc.
Collaborate with HVM and MCT through KEG and CST groups on MOR, Contingency List, Equipment, Yield and other HVM topics
Improve communication and collaboration with area, department, and network partners, as well as with any external customers
Engage with your counterparts in other areas on multi-functional solutions to part type issues
Honor and commit to decisions made thru collaborative discussions
Technical/Data Analysis:
Participate in roadmap building, vendor meetings, TRM’s, etc. to drive equipment and process technology
Contribute solutions to gaps to the area roadmap
Formulate projects when solutions are required beyond the scope of existing processes and infrastructure
Provide fixing support for sophisticated problems and address root causes
Serves as a key area resource for technical support and/or providing required technical resources to support TD requirements
Project Management/Planning:
Serve as manager of area process owners, providing day-to-day project management and technical advice for your development team
Establish clear plans and timelines on how to achieve results; supervise actions and provide critical issue path or resources to ensure actions will be completed on time
Drive team to focus on priority issues and stay within the scope of the project
Manages the needs of multiple customers to set priorities for your team
Assign and reallocate resources as required based on part needs
Coordinate and lead meetings and initiate follow-up actions
Support department business processes (Specs, MOR, CL, PMI, etc.) for process transfer to high volume manufacturing sites
Partner with Procurement, PD, PI, Planning, and manufacturing on process requirements and support on new tool/chamber purchases (QPUP, QPODS)
Attend vital program and module meetings and look for areas to contribute
Performance Management:
Set and communicate performance goals for the team that provide line-of-site
Meet regularly with team members to review performance, provide feedback and create development plans applying SuccessFactors
Partner with direct reports to create strategic/tactical goals and projects that meet individual needs and the needs of the department
Ensure direct reports use the performance management tools, including maintaining documentation to capture feedback, plans, and progress to support performance rating
Coach team members on soft skills (written and verbal communication, Micron behaviors, risk management, decision making, vendor interaction, and on technical skills (data analysis, DOE, area technology, etc.)
Recognize and reward Micron team members for outstanding performance
Recruit both external and internal candidates to fill headcount in the group
Provide conflict resolution if issues arise
Encourage continuing education through classes, overviews and regular literature reviews between group members
