This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants and may be used to fill future vacancies.Note: No cover letter is required to apply, please ensure you allow sufficient time to complete the application questionnaire as it will determine candidate advancement.What you will be doing:As the Systems & Network Technician you will provide wireless, network infrastructure, server support as well as other related services and delivery through the IS Help Desk. Duties include but are not limited to:Providing analytical and technical support for operating, maintaining and installing systems or modifying existing systems.Ensuring data is securely transmitted, received and/or is viewed in required formats, and between systems.Performing network hardware and software configurations, installations and upgrades, performance monitoring, access, security, backups, scheduling, and network inventory management.Evaluating, and recommending purchases, and applying network monitoring hardware and software to determine baseline performance and traffic characteristics for agency networks; monitor system performance and resolve performance problems. Develop and maintain desk procedures manual for systems, network and security processes and support.Providing regular status reports on major projects (network implementation, conversions, upgrades). Maintaining, developing and supporting desktop, databases, security, audio, visual, telephonic, and network systems.Evaluating cost, specifications and agency policies to recommend system and performance improvements.
