This role ensures seamless integration by handling equipment installation, cabling, system configuration, and testing. The Lead collaborates with campus partners and vendors to implement high-quality AV solutions, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability. Additionally, they contribute to the success of the OpenAV initiative by overseeing installations and ensuring systems meet user needs and satisfaction.In this role, you will:

Lead the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of AV systems, ensuring flawless integration and performance.Collaborate with campus partners and vendors to deliver high-quality AV solutions that meet the needs of our vibrant academic community.Oversee the OpenAV initiative, ensuring systems exceed user expectations and adhere to industry standards.Engage in pre-installation planning, hands-on execution, and post-installation review for continual improvement.Drive system reliability through maintenance, problem-solving, and vendor coordination.What we’re looking for:

3+ years of experience in AV system installation and troubleshooting, with a solid understanding of control systems like Crestron, AMX, or Extron.Proficiency in reading AV schematics and familiarity with AV over IP and IT network systems.Strong project management skills, including scheduling, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.A team player who can lead and mentor others while working closely with a collaborative group of professionals.Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work on ladders and scaffolding, and comply with all relevant safety standards.Preferred qualifications:

Associates plus 3+ years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Associate’s degree plus 3-5 years of experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting AV systems, or an equivalent combination of skills, education, and experience.Proficient in troubleshooting, maintaining, and applying industry standards to commercial AV systems.Knowledge of control systems like Crestron, AMX, Extron, or similar technologies, as well as AV over IP solutions.Experience with field cable handling, terminations, and rack building.Ability to read and interpret AV schematics, blueprints, and renderings.Knowledge of IT networks and proficiency with computer software.Project management skills, including experience managing projects, coordinating schedules, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely completion of tasks.Experience leading teams, mentoring, or managing tasks within a collaborative team environment.Ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders to ensure project satisfaction.Must be able to perform tasks that involve lifting and handling up to 75 lbs, or the maximum weight reasonably required, including lifting and manipulating heavy objects on ladders, scaffolding, and in confined spaces, with reasonable accommodations provided.Familiarity with safety protocols, including OSHA guidelines, and regulatory compliance such as ADA and NEC standards.Preferred Qualifications

Advanced AV manufacturer and industry certifications (e.g., Crestron, QSC Level II, Dante Level 3, AVIXA CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I).Advanced audio DSP knowledge and skills.Experience with loading and verifying system configuration programs.Experience working in an academic environment.Department Contact for Recruitment Inquiries
