Responsibilities & QualificationsThe Novelis North America (NNA) team is seeking a Lead IT Applications onsite at our Oswego, NY location. This role will ensure new applications and application improvements accurately follow development process per Novelis standards. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and support of multiple applications within NNA and specific to the Oswego plant.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership, project management and ongoing support of existing specified business systems including troubleshooting, vendor liaison, user liaison and continuous improvement.
Work with corporate IT assets to ensure the systems being supported are providing required functionality to the Novelis systems.
Work with software vendors to provide and improve support and service to active systems.
Work with plant automation resources to provide and maintain seamless and accurate data handling and reporting.
Provide support to other labs within NNA (Woodhaven, Guthrie, Bay Minette).
Evaluate business requirements and translate those into robust technical solutions working with development teams and business collaborators.
Balance priorities across production issues, change requests and project demands.
Communicate progress, issues, and needs to management through regular reports and staff meetings.
Share knowledge, experience, and leadership across clusters.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Software Engineering or related field.
2 - 5+ years experience in manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Shop Floor processes and personnel.
Good technical skills around business applications, software, database.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to communicate efficiently with business users and plant management at all levels.
Ability to work independently and efficiently on multiple projects.
Excellent grasp of front-end technologies, interface design, and database design.
Expertise in Novelis Change Control process.
Troubleshooting skills.
Preferred
SAP experience.
Familiarity with Oracle and SQL database platforms.
Ability to apply version control tools such as TFS and DevOps.
Application development knowledge.

This role’s salary starts from $110,800 per year. Individual pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and performance. In addition to base salary, this position includes participation in a short-term incentive plan (Annual Incentive Plan - AIP or Plant Performance incentive - PPI).
Location ProfileNovelis Oswego is located in northern Central New York on the shores of Lake Ontario and employs approximately 1200 people. The Oswego plant produces more than one billion pounds of high-quality aluminum sheet each year serving customers in the automotive beverage can and specialty markets. In addition to its downtown shopping and dining district Oswego and the surrounding areas are renowned for fishing hiking snowmobiling and outdoor recreation across all four seasons.
