Title: NEMT Client Transportation Coordinator

Location: Seattle, WA. Harborview Medical Center; will rotate to our other locations based on business need (UW Medical Center Montlake or Seattle Children's Hospital). Initial training for this position is in Bellevue, WA.

Work Schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm or 9:30am - 6:00pm, with some flexibility to occasionally cover either shift.

The career opportunity:

The Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Client Transportation Coordinator partners in-person with medical facility staff to provide transportation assistance to Medicaid clients for the purpose of receiving medical care at local facilities. This position is a rotational role primarily stationed at Harborview Medical Center. Coordinators determine the type of transportation service required for clients and collaborate with our transportation service partners to meet their needs. This position reports directly to the NEMT Scheduling Supervisor. Coordinators are provided with a Hopelink issued ORCA card, for public transit, to commute to the work locations.

The ideal Client Transportation Coordinator brings excellent communication skills, a commitment to customer service, and a genuine passion for helping others. Experience in dispatching or ride scheduling a plus.

Excellent customer service skills. Dispatching or scheduling experience preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills. Creative problem-solving skills. Geographic knowledge of King and Snohomish counties preferred. Experience working in social services or medical environment with low income, elderly, disabled, and people of diverse backgrounds preferred. Understanding of Medicaid, Medicare, and other entitlement programs helpful but not required. Fluency in Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, Arabic or Somali a plus. This position is a Service Critical position with strict attendance requirements.

Employee must manage own transportation needs in adverse weather, including possible limitations to public transportation options. Must be flexible with shift schedules and work other locations. Regular attendance and punctuality is essential to our business and to this position.

Examples of what you will be doing:

Helps determine client eligibility for Medicaid-funded transportation services and assists clients through the various stages of eligibility screening process; advises clients of ineligibility for services, accurately documenting decisions and informing clients of their rights. Processes and schedules ride requests; coordinates pick-ups and drop-offs for timely, safe, and efficient transportation. Works independently to provide superior customer service in person or via telephone, fax, or electronic communication. Creates member profiles in client database, accurately reflecting client's eligibility, and service needs. Communicates respectfully with clients, facility staff and people of all cultures, languages, ages, genders, gender preferences, races, physical abilities, ethnic backgrounds, and religions.
