Summary of Purpose
Develops and maintains advanced eLearning modules for the commercial nuclear power industry. Functions as a lead developer in working groups with subject matter experts (SMEs) and contractors to help create the content for technical eLearning modules and then apply software authoring and instructional design expertise to create and maintain engaging training modules. Can identify appropriate vendors when necessary for eLearning projects and can independently guide contractor work. Has a strong knowledge of instructional design and development processes, such as the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) and rapid design and development approaches. Advanced knowledge and skill with software authoring tools Lectora and Storyline. Able to create or acquire digital assets such as graphics, audio, video and animation as needed for eLearning modules.
Essential FunctionsDesign and develop quality eLearning courses using Lectora or Storyline and other digital assets for industrial and technical training hosted on an industry-wide eLearning platform.Develops/revises courses or modules with assistance by subject matter experts in accordance with INPO/Department procedures and guidelines in accordance with INPO/department procedures and guidelines.Prepare supportive instructional materials (e.g. instructional design documents, lesson plans, change logs, storyboards, templates, models, prototypes, style guides, case studies, simulations, video scripts)Load, test, troubleshoot, and provide technical support for eLearning courseware on the host LMSCreate eLearning exams with subject matter expert assistanceConduct and report on exam analysis and implement improvements; periodically update exam banksEvaluate and respond to student feedbackPeriodically evaluate effectiveness of training courses, including participating in industry reviews and curriculum oversight committeesAssist in the creation of eLearning developer standardsPresent information at meetings and workshopsWork independently with little supervisory oversight but as part of a teamWrite and review technical documentsInterface with a broad spectrum of personnel from senior leadership to subject matter experts (SMEs) in order to identify training needs and develop training solutionsPrepare information for meetings and workshopsInterface with INPO, contractor, and utility personnel at all levelsParticipate in industry-related seminars, meetings and workshops to improve knowledge and skills in assigned specialty areaIdentify gaps and assist in developing action plans to improve programs, processes and procedures including escalation to key stakeholders as necessaryPerforms other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
