The Department of Executive Services - Fleet Services Division has an outstanding opportunity for an energetic and resourceful financial professional. This position performs intricate and technically specialized financial and administrative processes and analyses. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, likes to solve problems, and enjoys working with a team and diving into datasets.
ABOUT FLEET SERVICES DIVISIONThe Fleet Services Division manages King County's portfolio of vehicles and equipment. The team performs acquisition, maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of approximately 2,800 fleet assets for the County's services associated with the Sheriff's Office, Public Health, Roads, Parks, Wastewater, Water and Land Resources, and other agencies. The division has two maintenance shops which include robust storerooms of automotive parts, materials, and construction supplies as well as several technicians working in the field to support remote customer sites.
In addition, the division is responsible for the disposition of the county's personal property assets, which includes a surplus warehouse in Georgetown. Disposal methods can include re-use within the county, donation to verified and approved non-profits, and sales through online portals or sealed/negotiated bids.

Scope of Job Duties:
To be considered for this opportunity, you must demonstrate knowledge, skills, and ability to:Monitor, record, and report the division's fixed assets in operational and financial databases.Perform annual fixed asset inventory, and more frequent fixed asset audits and reconciliations.Monitor, record, and report personal property surplus proceeds.Create general ledger journal entries to disburse surplus property proceeds of capital and non-capital assets to appropriate County funds and general ledger account codes.Partner and collaborate well with colleagues across teams to solve problems, improve processes, and master the details.Administer the accounts receivables process for fleet work orders, parts, materials, and fuel sales to non-county customers. This includes the ability to determine and apply applicable sales tax, generate and distribute related accounts receivable invoices, and follow up with customers on outstanding balances.Perform tax account settlements.Perform various inter- and intra-fund journal entries related to inter-agency billing and account reconciliations.Administer equipment title and registration applications.Administer the Fleet Services Division's Washington State Good to Go accounts.Audit and reconcile large datasets from operational and financial systems.Trace reconciliation items to their root cause, and partner with business process owners to mitigate future errors.Maintain source data systems with up-to-date information collected through various business processes.We are looking for candidates who:Have a background in finance and administration or any combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to learn and perform the job duties of the position.Have a strong attention to detail.Have an interest and ability to deepen understanding of general principles and practices of account receivables, fixed assets administration, and related finance and business processes.Are customer service and team-focused.Have strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well independently, and as part of a team.Value listening, seeking diverse perspectives, and engaging others to challenge assumptions.Seek to learn and understand all perspectives, beliefs, and values, and be an active participant and/or leader in equity and social justice initiatives.Have experience with Oracle financials (or a similar financial ERP system) and Microsoft Excel.APPLICATION PROCESS This opportunity is open to all applicants.
