POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Childcare Program Director develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA childcare program(s).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Direct and supervise program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill the YMCA's objectives.Ensure proper registration for program participants.Monitor daily program operations to adhere to all state and YMCA health and safety regulations.Help maintain accurate records for staff and children.Staff scheduling.Assist in developing and maintaining a positive childcare staff team, working toward the same goals, with a vision of offering high quality, high value programs for participants.Attend and participate in program activities, staff meetings, and required staff trainings.Assist with parent communication on a daily basis through emails, memos, parent boards regarding calendar and curriculum updates as well as any events or issues.Additional duties assigned and required by supervisors to support the overall mission of the YMCA and promote the success of childcare development.Trains and assists all new employeesAssists in providing coverage in the event of a scheduling issueYMCA COMPETENCIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate's degree in related field or equivalent.One to two years related experience preferred, as a coordinator or supervisor of childcare programs.Requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of CPR; First Aid; AED; Safety Orientation.Proof of Current Immunizations: TB, Influenza (limited exceptions), pertussis, and measles vaccination.Site Director Permit (current) and YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments ofthe community.Understands the YMCA is a public accommodation committed to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
