We are a seeking an ambitious, friendly, positive, and compassionate Administrative Medical Assistant to join our team
The Administrative Medical Assistant (Admin MA) acts as liaison between the AARA Physician / Provider Team and patients. The Admin MA facilitates messages, documentation, authorizations, prescriptions and assessments and, either reactively or proactively as the situation demands, communicates directly with patients to ensure all necessary information, authorizations and documentation are in place for future interactions with the organization or appropriate third-party organizations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Processing Patient MessagesUnderstanding and escalating patient issues as necessary to AARA Provider(s)Liaising with patient(s) to ensure medications are authorized, ordered and available for pickupLiaising with Provider(s) to ensure reviews are completed and relevant information and communicating with patient as requiredEnsuring all communication and messages are HIPAA compliantProcessing Assessments / DocumentationOrdering lab/radiology assessmentsEscalating abnormalities to Provider(s) for assessmentFacilitating provision of medical records to patient or third party as requiredVerifying Prior AuthorizationsLiaise with Prior Authorizations department to facilitate the provision of assessment, medication and/or infusion ordersProcessing Medication Refills / e-RefillsFacilitating medication refills under Provider guidelines and parametersEnsuring validity of refill request and escalating concerns to Provider(s)Preparing approved requests for Provider signatureFollow up TasksCleaning all Provider charts to ensure all pending assessments and/or documentation is in place prior to follow-up appointmentLearn more about AARA on our website at http://azarthritis.com

Knowledge, Skill, Training and Experience to do the Job
Essential
Proven, successful experience in supporting medical professionalsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient in the use of computer applications, including detailed experience with at least one EHR systemFamiliarity with insurance billing and medical codingProven multi-tasking proficiencyMust be personable and professional.Must be able to handle a stressful workload with changing prioritiesDegree, MA certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent sector experienceDesirable
Experience in a role focused on liaising between patient and Provider / Healthcare OrganizationExperience in utilizing EHR system
