Compensation and Benefits Specialist

Compensation and Benefits Specialist.
What will you be doing most days?
Compensation Specialist Responsibilities (60%)Manages the development, implementation and administration of compensation programs.Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.Provides advice on pay decisions, executive compensation, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.Oversees the participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data to ensure compensation objectives are achieved.Maintain the incentive programs to reward performance, and ensure programs are internally equitable and externally competitive.Ensures compliance with federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations.Internal consultant on compensation best practices, industry trends, legislative issues, and market competitivenessConduct compensation surveys quarterly and upon request to address changes in the market.Manage and update incentive plans for all bonus eligible positions.Proactively monitor and manage minimum wage or other pay-related changes across all states.Benefits Administration Responsibilities (40%)Oversee the benefit communication strategy including benefit collateral, internal sources such as SharePoint and Employee Self- Service.Design and administer health and welfare programs including vendor management, annual open enrollments, and manage coverage services with carriers.Act as Plan Administrator and fiduciary for 401(k) Retirement plan including audits and execution of 5500s.Responsible for the accurate and timely submission of benefit invoices monthly.Direct the management of Benefit Outsource providers to ensure efficient and accurate administration, processing and maintenance of employee benefit programs-COBRA.Maintain the HRIS /Benefit System for open enrollment, life events, and other members as the result of 3rd party management acquisitions.Ensure compliance with provisions of FLSA, ERISA, FMLA, CFRA, CPDL, ADA, local, state, and federal legislative requirements associated with the management of all compensation, benefit, retirement and leave programs.Ensure the accurate communication of benefit program information to participants through sophisticated and customized materials and resources.Build and maintain strong relationships with all levels of team members.
What are the requirements for this position?
You have a bachelor's degree in business, management, finance, accounting, data analytics, or related field.You have a minimum of three years of progressive benefits and compensation related work.You have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skillsYou have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong data analytics skill, especially MS excel.Preferred skills include proficient use of salary.com or other online-based salary tools.
Physical Requirements for this Position
You must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time as the job dictates.
Travel Requirements
This position may require up to 10% travel. Travel is outside the local area and may be overnight
