Overview
Under moderate supervision, performs a wide variety of accounting duties. Both technical and analytical skills are utilized in the compilation and preparation of general ledger, financial statements, and other information for use by upper management and/or third parties. Performs easy to moderate general ledger analysis of account reconciliations and management reports and special ad hoc projects. A solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, transaction flows, and cloud computing are employed in an environment of continuous quality improvement.
This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of two days per week in the Central office located in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.
Responsibilities
Participates in consolidated financial statement preparation by compiling and monitoring data, preparing, and processing journal entries on a monthly basis, and assisting in the monthly preparation of revenue reporting packages, as assigned.
Prepares asset, liability, expense, and revenue account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Performs easy to moderately complex monthly account reconciliations for assigned accounts to determine accuracy and reasonableness. Resolves any accounting issues and or discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
Participate and assist with ongoing Workday implementation enhancements and testing. Ensure accuracy and integrity of data from Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning systems for assigned areas.
Participates on selected special projects, applying knowledge of accounting to prepare and compile accurate financial information and analysis as required. At times works directly with Manager and/or Director on special projects as assigned.
Prepares documents for and assists in various aspects of annual financial audit and tax filings, as assigned.
Works closely with management in implementation of departmental policies and procedures in areas of responsibility to ensure compliance with rules and regulations. Identifies opportunities or possible changes that will have a positive impact on the business.
Performs a wide variety of other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting or CPA Certification. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles required.
Experience with Workday Financials Desirable.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Accustomed to prioritizing and meet multiple tight deadlines.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
