The PTA position instructs and trains JIRDC staff on patient/resident handling, gait, and mobility as delegated by the Physical TherapistThis instruction is appropriate to the level of the PTA position. Management Preferences: Prior experience working with adults with intellectual developmental disabilities is preferred but not required to apply to this position.Knowledge and application of physical therapy principles, techniques, methods, modalities, functional anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics. Ability to provide effective documentation for treatments and follow treatment plan as outlined by the Physical Therapist. Ability to provide instruction to staff and provide in-services on subjects as it relates to Physical Therapy. Ability to perform related duties as required and assigned to the position.Physical Requirements:Occasional lifting greater than 40 lbs., moderate walking, fine motor skills for data entry, visual skills for data entry, adequate balance, and motor skills to assist adult residents in motor activities. Ability to stoop, crouch, reach, stand, push and pull.
