SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Once in a career opportunity for a Senior Accountant with a solid background in government contracting or project-based accounting. This role is ideal for an experienced CPA who thrives in a GL-focused role with opportunities for growth and leadership. You will play a vital role in managing general ledger functions, preparing financial reports, and working closely with project managers to ensure timely and accurate financial data.

We are a well-established, government-focused design and project management firm with over 30 years of experience delivering complex projects for military and government clients worldwide. Our projects range from high-security military installations to infrastructure restoration and enhancement. Our team is committed to excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee GL, including month-end entries, financial package preparation, prepaids and depreciation, accounts receivable, and customer/client billing.

Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely report generation and maintain accuracy in project financials.

Prepare and maintain financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and government contracting standards.

Provide insight and analysis to support decision-making for complex, high-security projects.

Grow into a leadership role within 3-4 years, supporting strategic initiatives and financial oversight as a senior member of the finance team.

Qualifications:

Experience:

10-15+ years in accounting, ideally with government contracting or project-based accounting (construction experience also considered).

Certification:

CPA required.

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger management, and financial reporting.

Stability:

Seeking candidates with stable career histories (2+ years in each of the last 3-4 positions).

SouthPark, Charlotte, NC (Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote; initial 6 months to 1 year in-office for training)
