Associate Recruiting Manager
to join our New York office. As a Manager of Associate Recruitment, you will play a crucial role in sourcing and recruiting top-tier summer associates, lateral associates and other legal hires to join our New York office. You will manage and administer the day-to-day recruiting process, ensuring a seamless experience for all candidates and internal stakeholders. Collaborating with the Director of Associate Recruiting, you will coordinate and maintain consistency in the summer associate and on-campus interview programs. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Legal Personnel; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; and Professional Development teams to promote the active recruitment and retention of legal talent.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Manage the end-to-end recruitment process and candidate lifecycle for all summer associate, lateral associate, and legal personnel needs for the New York office, ensuring high-quality and diverse hiresDevelop and implement innovative strategies for sourcing top-tier candidatesUtilize Leopard Solutions and other databases to market map prospective recruits and coordinate direct outreach through LinkedInBuild and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align recruitment strategies with the firm's goalsManage relationships with headhunters and with regular cadence communicate New York office and firmwide hiring opportunitiesStay informed of legal recruiting trends and assess their impact on the firm's hiring processesScreen resumes and conduct interviews, assessing candidate qualifications and influencing offer recommendationsCoordinate the firm's on-campus interviewing program and maintain effective relationships with law school career servicesAnalyze post-season results and implement strategic changes as necessaryPlan and manage a robust summer program, including social events and trainings, and ensuring alignment with the firm's overall programmingOversee the summer associate program budget, ensuring compliance with approved guidelinesWork with the Hiring Committee, Hiring Partners, and Summer Associate Program Coordinators to manage work assignment distribution and evaluation processesConduct summer associate arrival and exit interviewsSchedule and prepare agendas and materials for Hiring Committee meetingsInfluence summer associate hiring recommendations and coordinate follow-up meetings to finalize offer decisionsManage all reporting, metrics, and data management related to the New York office, ensuring accurate real-time information is availableManage and mentor assigned staff, to include objective setting, task delegation, coaching, mentoring and performance managementIn all interactions, foster and cultivate a collaborative and accountable team environmentMaintain confidentiality regarding firm mattersManage data related to the applicant tracking systemTravel to other firm offices and on-campus locations as neededSkills & qualifications include:

$115,000 - $145,000 per year
The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
