Works on research product categories of diverse scope and complexity where analysis and strategic proposals require engagement with UCSF's research customers, campus stakeholders, suppliers, and data analyses. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Cultivates contacts within the Finance organization, across UCSF, and with suppliers.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.Department Description

Strategic Sourcing, a unit within UCSF Supply Chain Management, focuses on identifying and executing against strategic opportunities to save time, money and reduce supply risks for identified clients. By negotiating deals that take advantage of the combined buying power of UCSF and/or the UC enterprise and their affiliates, this high-performing team aggressively cuts costs for common goods and services while increasing quality.Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training3+ years of relevant progressive experienceStrong ability to independently gather, organize, and perform analytical or sourcing assignmentsStrong listening and communication skills, including the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner verbally and in writingStrong organizational, meeting facilitation, and decision-making skillsAdvanced listening and communication skills, including the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally.Has an excellent ability to build trustProduces reports that are well-reasoned and well-writtenPreferred Qualifications

Master's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/trainingExperience supporting stakeholders in an academic research settingKnowledge of research suppliers and their products and servicesKnowledge of strategic sourcing policies, practices, and systemsExperience working in a lab environment or directly supporting PI's, Lab Managers, or ResearchersAbout UCSF
