Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Jax Dirt Works Inc.

Reports to:

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Position Overview:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Jax Dirt Works Inc. will be responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations, ensuring the effective and efficient management of construction projects, optimizing operational processes, and driving profitability. The COO will work closely with the CEO to execute the company’s strategic goals, foster a high-performance culture, and lead cross-functional teams in project management, procurement, safety, and logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

Manage daily operations of construction projects, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and compliance with quality standards.

Develop, implement, and optimize operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Oversee project management, procurement, logistics, and company equipment to ensure smooth coordination of resources.

Ensure all construction activities comply with legal regulations, safety guidelines, and industry best practices.

Strategic Planning & Execution:

Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute the company’s growth strategy.

Drive operational improvements, cost reductions, and profit maximization through innovation and technology adoption.

Identify and manage risks that could impact project timelines, costs, or quality.

Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) across projects and operations, making data-driven decisions to improve performance.

Team Leadership & Development:

Build and maintain a high-performing team by attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement among team members.

Lead by example to promote a strong safety culture across all project sites.

Provide mentorship and coaching to mid-level managers and emerging leaders.

Client Relations & Stakeholder Management:

Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.

Work closely with the business development team to ensure alignment between project delivery and client expectations.

Represent the company in negotiations with clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure favorable outcomes.

Financial Oversight:

Manage budgets, resource allocation, and project financial forecasting to ensure profitability.

Analyze project costs and profitability, identifying opportunities to improve margins.

Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role within the construction industry, with a proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects.

In-depth understanding of construction project management, procurement, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management, cost control, and P&L responsibility.

Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.

Strong negotiation and communication skills, with a client-focused approach.

Experience in implementing process improvements and using technology to drive operational efficiency.
