Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Computer Systems Architect—Infrastructure Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System, enabling the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations.
The selected candidate will be part of an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical baselines necessary for the evolving BMDS Battle Management, Command & Control, and Communications (C2BMC) system. The candidate should be a self-starter with strong attention to detail, excellent writing and speaking skills, and the ability to lead projects and interface well with internal and external customers.
Essential Functions:
Work with national missile defense or early warning system capabilities, e.g., C2BMC or other missile defense systems, sensors, or effectors.
Work with command and control systems.
Experience working with Space Domain Awareness mission areas.
Investigation and adaptation of emerging technologies.
Design production environments and lab modifications to support operations, test, and development needs.
Develop Bills of Material and perform Analysis of Alternatives for competing solutions.
Produce
CAMEO
and/or
Visio diagrams
to communicate designs.
Align solutions with different aspects of the program and champion design patterns across the program.
Provide designs for assured, efficient BMDS communications.
Reports to the Global Lead Architect and Deputy for tasking and guidance.
Basic Qualifications:
Active Top Secret clearance at the time of application.
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline preferred and 12 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree and 10 years of experience, or a PhD and 8 years of experience, or 16 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.
Ability to adapt new network technology and design patterns for application to the BMDS system.
Network engineering expertise in logical link layering, Ethernet, WAN, Switches, Routers, Firewalls.
A strong understanding of DMZ, OSPF, BGP, LDAP, Spine Leaf configurations, Band Management, and more.
Experience with virtualization methodologies and management of local private cloud instances.
Experience integrating
COTS
elements into a large enterprise.
Experience with Cyber System Accreditation packages.
DevSecOps development patterns.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current and active TS/SCI at the start date is highly desired.
