Responsibilities
P&C Analytics is seeking to hire a data analyst in the Financial Operations - P&C Analytics Claims Function. As a data analyst in this role, you will extract, transform, load and analyze data for new and existing tasks, and provide actionable insights and analysis to Claims executive, department leadership and business partners to enable better decision-making and improve operational performance.The key work efforts will include:Performing timely and accurate analysis to answer business questions in a fast-paced environment.Synthesizing and transforming available data into concise verbal, written and visual presentations.Developing data requirements, identifying data sources, and validating data and analysis.Extract, transform, and load data for reports and analytics solutions.Effectively analyzing data, creating appropriate visualizations, and communicating results of analyses to various levels of leadership in a relevant manner.Proactively sharing insights with business partners to enable timely and informed decision making.Collaborating with key business partners to understand and communicate trends.Serving as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to Executive leadership, collaborating broadly with others across State Farm to enable execution of key enterprise priorities and contributing to strategic, high-impact work.Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (e.g. H-1B visa) for this opportunity.
Qualifications
Required skills:Preferred- minimum of 3 years of related professional experience and bachelor's degree in relevant field.Preferred- understanding of the Claims operations environment, and effective application of that knowledge in the work through collaboration with peers, leadership, and business partners.Demonstrated learning agility to quickly learn and immediately apply new technical skills and business acumen.Strong analytical, critical thinking, and resourcefulness skills.Strong communication, presentation, and data visualization skills.Comprehensive decision-making and judgment exercised when diagnosing and resolving complex problems and issues.Ability to effectively utilize business intelligence data systems, models, financial/statistical resources, and analytical software applications in the creation of reports, charts, and visuals.Proficient in SAS and SQL with an understanding of relational databases.Proficient in BI Tooling (i.e., Power BI, Qlik, QuickSight).Advanced skills within the Microsoft suite, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint.Fluency in AWS cloud-based tools and services and statistical analysis skills are preferred.May apply specialized knowledge of research/statistical techniques.Ability to work in a high paced environment.Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (e.g. H-1B visa) for this opportunity.
