A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Estate Planning & Administration group in Bethesda, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate and trust administration, as well as experience in drafting related legal documents. This role requires collaboration with clients and their financial advisors to create personalized legal solutions. An LLM in taxation is a plus but not required.Duties:
Administer estates and trusts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and client preferences.Draft legal documents, including wills, trusts, and other estate planning materials.Collaborate with clients and their financial advisors, accountants, and investment professionals to create tailored estate plans.Provide counsel on estate tax issues and wealth preservation strategies.Work closely with other attorneys and staff to ensure smooth administration of estates and trusts.Maintain client files and ensure all legal documentation is up to date and accurate.Participate in estate planning meetings and provide legal advice based on client needs.Requirements:
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in estate and trust law.Experience in estate and trust administration and legal document drafting.Knowledge of estate tax laws and experience advising on wealth preservation strategies.Ability to work closely with clients and their financial teams to develop customized legal solutions.Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.LLM in Taxation is a plus, but not required.Certifications:
Active bar license in the state of Maryland (required).Good standing with the State Bar Association.Skills:
Proficient in drafting wills, trusts, and estate planning documents.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients and their advisors.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple client files.Ability to provide high-level legal advice while fostering a client-first approach.Familiarity with estate tax laws and trust administration procedures.Location:
